There are many alumni who exemplify the values of our school—Koinonia Academy alumni have spread the light of Christ to nearly every corner of the globe! The Alumni Legacy Award was created to honor those who are pursuing the unique call that the Lord has for them while living a life of truth, beauty, and goodness.
It is with great joy and admiration that we present this year's Alumni Legacy Award to Brother Adam Neri, BH, Class of 1996!
Brother Adam Neri, BH, grew up in Berkeley Heights, NJ, one of eleven children, seven boys and four girls - full of the joy of life - God, family, close friends.
After graduation from Koinonia Academy in 1996, he attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where he earned degrees in English and Spanish, and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. He also has a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry from the University of St Thomas in St Paul, MN. He taught high school prior to joining religious life with the Brotherhood of Hope in Boston, MA.
While traveling the world doing mission work, he encountered a group of religious brothers from the Brotherhood of Hope, whose authentic witness of radical love for God inspired, challenged, and attracted him. Through their witness, the desire to do something great for God was placed in his heart. In July of 2010 he professed perpetual vows in the Brotherhood of Hope.
Br. Adam has had mission assignments as a campus minister at Rutgers University, Florida State University, and served for seven years as the director of Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. In August of 2023, he moved to Minnesota to begin work as the Director of Missions for St. Paul’s Outreach.
He divides his time between organizing international mission trips, engaging the local poor, serving the Brothers in his household as the Local Superior, and finding reasons to visit one of his happy places - the Amazon jungle of Peru.
Brother Adam’s thirst for the Lord has carved a path for an adventurous life, taking him across the country and throughout the world seeking to serve others, elevate human dignity, and do great things for God. We are proud to have him as the recipient of the Alumni Legacy Award this year.
If you are from the class of 1996, born in 1996, been supported by the Brotherhood of Hope, a friend of Br. Adam Neri, or love authentic Catholic Education, this night is for you!
