KA's Return to School Plan

We are thrilled to be back on campus with our students this year! There are many details in our Return to School Plan with the main updates below: 

• KA is open for full-time 5-days/week in-person instruction!
• A full-time School Health Officer (SHO) has been hired to assist with the implementation of the policies and procedures.
• Numerous improvements to cleaning procedures and infrastructure have been implemented - including improving classroom ventilation and air filtering, and ensuring adequate student and teacher spacing and mitigations.
• A Remote Learning component has been set in place to serve students (and teachers) that are temporarily absent, perhaps for extended periods of time, as well as those students who wish to be fully remote.

Our Faculty and Staff have undergone extensive training to become familiar with each aspect of our plan which is comprehensive and focused on how we can return to school in a manner that is safe for students, teachers, staff, and their families.  

A few key details in the plan:

• The plan addresses the current reality of the Covid-19 pandemic in our state.  Things may and will change, and we will address those changes as necessary throughout the summer and the year.
• Daily screening by parents and staff is required using a mobile app (with paper option available), before entering campus:
  • KA Parents will monitor and report on behalf of their children
  • KA Staff will self-monitor and self-report
• Social distancing norms of 4 feet for all students and 6 feet for all adults will be implemented.
• Face masks are required when indoors, and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.  Exceptions are:
  • Grades 1 and under are not required to wear masks but are encouraged to do so
  • Teachers may wear face shields while maintaining social distancing, to facilitate teaching

Our children are precious to all of us, and both their education and their health are important. Please pray for the KA administration, staff, and teachers as they implement this plan, and for the Return to School sub-committee as they continue to assist, assess, and respond to changing circumstances.  Please pray for the Board as we seek to do what is best for the school and all those whose lives are a part of it.  Know that we will be praying for you
