Koinonia Academy’s recent Golf Outing was a tremendous success, bringing together 103 golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and students for a day of fun and fellowship. Held at Ash Brook Golf Course in Scotch Plains, the event was filled with beautiful weather, friendly competition, and an undeniable sense of community.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and participants, the funds raised will directly support our mission to inspire courageous lives of personal holiness, virtue, and wisdom in our students!
We look forward to seeing you at next year’s outing!
The Perseverance in Character Award is to recognize a member of the KA community for their many years of dedication, service, mentorship, witness and love to KA students .
Sonia and her husband Jim have been actively involved with Koinonia since 1985. Their children have attended KA and their son Charles now has joined his mom as a member of
the Koinonia Academy Faculty. Sonia started at Koinonia as Patricia Weyand’s assistant in gym class. Over the course of many years, Sonia has taught most subjects in Middle and High School. She has also served in administrative and leadership positions at the school. Sonia currently teaches math, science, economics and is our facilitator for the senior yearbook. Sonia noted that being able to teach with such amazing teachers and learn alongside our wonderful KA students, these many years, has been one of the great joys of her life.
We are very honored and proud to present our 2024 Perseverance in Character Award to Sonia Masterson.
